Nearly Deleted a 70% Off Code Sent to a Lapsed Account, Used All Three Orders

DoorDash sends its biggest win-back offers to accounts that have gone quiet, which means they land with the people who have stopped opening the emails. Vlingo caught a 70% off code for three separate orders, BIG70X3, tied to the account and not published anywhere.
“It was sitting in my inbox the whole time and I'd have let it expire without ever knowing what it was.”
I'd quietly stopped using DoorDash
It wasn't a conscious decision. I just got sick of paying the fees and started picking things up myself, and at some point I stopped opening anything they sent me.
Then they sent me 70 percent off three separate orders. Seventy. With a code, BIG70X3, that I would never have seen.
The big offers go to the people who stopped looking
That's the thing about these. The large offers go to people who have gone quiet, so by definition the person receiving it is the person not checking. The better the discount, the less likely you are to be watching for it.
There's nowhere to go and look it up
These go to your account specifically. It isn't a code anyone can use, so there's nowhere to look it up later and no site that lists it. If you miss the email, the offer simply didn't happen as far as you're concerned.
Vlingo caught it. We used all three over about two weeks and saved more across those three orders than I'd normally spend on one.
Why the public codes are always small
The ones that come to you personally are always bigger than anything public. The codes you find on a coupon site are ten percent off and half of them are dead, because anybody can use them so they get priced for anybody. This one was sitting in my inbox the whole time and I'd have let it expire without ever knowing what it was.
